Self taught entrepreneur, with an extensive Tourism and Hospitality experience, which goes as far back as 1982, since when he shared his professional career with many artistic adventures in various fields as Radio, TV, Music and performance Arts, he was leader, singer and songwriter in the Ja T’Ho Diré Band, with great success in Spain and over 150 concerts and performances during the late eighties. He designed and led the first Rock Opera the Balearic Islands “Piramid’s” with “Groc” Theatre Group.

His passion for art, multimedia and graphic design led him inexorably to embrace the (then) emerging new technologies, his first experience was Menorca Online, a web magazine for tourism promotion, which was created in 1997 with only notepad and html code in the early times of Internet. In 1998 he opened with 2 more friends the first Internet Commercial Server in Menorca, providing Internet and Hosting Access to the island, what became a non profit initiative led later to the opening of Infotelecom, which became a leader IT company in the Balearics.

In 1999 Francis opened his own company, Publicom, a Website Design, Digital Advertising and Product Development company, creating ecommerce solutions, interactive promotion and marketing digital products and Virtual Tours.

In 2008 he moved to Tenerife, where he established Francis Ortiz Creative Art & Design Studios, an individual autonomous business, partner of Eurodat Sistemas and iTop Consulting, a Computer Hardware and Maintenance Company and a Software development company respectively.

Francis is also partner of Ashotel, the Hotel and Hospitality Association for Tenerife, la Gomera, La Palma y El Hierro, whith which he is currently in charge of different local and international Tourism related projects, offering innovative business, digital marketing solutions and value propositions to their 240 associated hotels.

Winner of the 2012 Photographer of the Year Google Award, Francis is also Google Apps Authorised Reseller, Google Apps for Education Qualified Individual, he collaborates with the Canarias Tourism Innovation Foundation, the Center of Touristic Development of Costa Adeje, The Canarias European University and the Institute of Business Innovation. He writes for various National publications like and among others.

With exceptional commercial skills, Francis is Executive Sales and Marketing Manager in Europe for the San Diego based Technology Company TCS Inc. in charge of their Spark Compass Intelligent Communication Platform in Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America. Authorised Consultor and Channel Manager for Guideo App, an Augmented Reality App for Culture and Tourism, Executive Commercial Manager for iTop Consulting, in charge of GoiDiGi, their Augmented Reality products and Xperience Apps, and finally, in the Education Field he is Eliademy for Business Consultor for the Finnish company Cbtech and R&D Consultor in IT for the European University.

Well known as Technology Communicator Francis is frequent guest to talks, forums, presentations and speeches about Geolocation, Augmented Reality, Google Apps, Smart Destinations and Future Technologies.

January 2011 Designs An Augmented World, an Augmented Reality project for Education, Tourism and Business.

June 2013 Designs Smart Arona, which includes Geolocation, Virtualization, Augmented Reality, Sensors, Citizen Behaviour Analysis, Governance Systems, Big Data Visualization, Energy Optimization solutions and Sustainability amongst other technologies and solutions for Smart Cities and Smart Destinations, which was presented to the city of Arona Town Hall, Tenerife.

November 2013 Francis Ortiz designs The Smart Connected Citizen project for Total Communicator Solutions Inc., an integral communication platform for Smart Cities, Smart Destinations, Smart Governance, Transportation, Tourism Boards, Retail and Big Data Gathering.

January 2014 Francis Ortiz designs the AMP Project, an integral Communication Application Platform for Hotels.

2015 Founds UBIKUA, a Big Data based Geolocation and Proximity Solutions Platform for Smart Destinations and Smart Cities.

Crea offers Commercial, Consulting, Design and Technology services to it’s Customers, specialised in Geolocation, Immersive Photography and Augmented Reality Solutions for Business.

Crea is partner of Ashotel Foundation, the largest hotel Association in The Canary Islands and first in spain in number of Associated hotels, with Ashotel, Crea has launched the Gehotel Project, the Integral Geolocation, Virtualization and Augmentation of all Touristic Resources in the Canary Islands, beginning with the first approved Project for the island of El Hierro, which was approved by SEGITUR on December 2013.

Crea also produces Virtual Tours for Google Maps within the Google Business Photos Project since 2012, with 300+ published tours, businesses can display and explore their interiors through Virtual Reality 360º Interactive Tours within Google Maps.

Currently Crea is developing different Augmented Reality and GeoMarketing projects for Tourism, Culture and Governance with it’s associates and partners.

My role in EasyonPAD consists in identifying new sales prospects and driving business growth and requirements for product development that will be coordinated with R&D functions. Responsibilities include: Elaborate business development plans, design and implement processes to support business growth, through customer and market definition. Facilitate business growth by working together with clients as well as business partners (suppliers, subcontractors, JV partners, technology providers, etc.). Build and maintain high-level contacts with current and prospective customer and other business and project partners. Drive prospects through to contract award (including identifying new customers and markets, developing approaches to the market, identifying prospects, proposal preparation, etc.) Develop marketing strategy, manage proposal teams and client account managers.
